A-League Women Season approaching dramatic conclusion

The A-League Women’s is approaching an exhilarating final round with two teams playing for the Premiership and finals spots sill on the line for six teams.

How will six become four?

Six teams are still in the running for the finals after a wicked weekend of football action. Western Sydney defeated Western United, a result that places both teams in the finals mix – whilst Central Coast lost their grip on a finals place after a heavy defeat to Melbourne City.

Similarly, Melbourne Victory have put their season at risk with a shocking 3-2 loss against Newcastle which ended in a viral player brawl after former Victory player Melina Ayres scored to give Newcastle the late win.

Premiership race ongoing

Sydney FC and Melbourne City are both ensured finals football however both are still in the running for a top placed finish. The Sky Blues have the upper hand though with a game in hand and will face Canberra on Wednesday to potentially seal the title.

Potentially standing in their way though is Melbourne Victory who they will face in the final round. Should Victory defeat the Sky Blues it will give their rivals Melbourne City a chance to secure the Premiership – an unenviable position for the Victory.
